Bridgerton Filming Locations to Visit in Bath

Are you a fan of the Netflix series Bridgerton? Did you know that many of the scenes from the show were filmed in Bath, a beautiful city in southwest England?

If you’re planning a vacation and love Bridgerton then you might want to add Bath to your travel itinerary. Bath has rich history and a unique charm. The city has been featured in many films and TV shows, including Bridgerton. The city has a lot to offer, from its stunning architecture to its beautiful parks and gardens.

The city is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is well known for it’s Georgian architecture which is some of the best preserved Georgian architecutre in the world. This is why it was chosen as a filming location for Bridgerton, as it helped re-create that Regency period feel.

The Royal crescent

The Royal Crescent was used as a backdrop for filming in Bridgerton and is one of the most recognizable locations in the show.

No. 1 Royal Crescent, which is a museum located on the Royal Crescent was used as the filming location for the exterior shots of the Featherington family’s home. The production team decorated the outside with ornate decorations, and the front door was painted for the filming. The house was then CGI’d onto a London street.

The Royal Crescent is also one of the most iconic landmarks in Bath, with it’s sweeping curve of 30 Georgian terraced houses. With No 1. Royal Crescent being a Georgian house museum, where you can see what life was like back in the 18th Century.

The Guildhall

The Guildhall’s Banqueting room was used for some of the ball scenes in Bridgerton. It first appeared in Episode 2 of Season 1, when it was used for the Ramsbury Ball room.

Located on High Street, only a few minutes walk from Pulteney Bridge the Guildhall is a beauitful Georgian building which made it the perfect location for a regenacy era ball setting.

Bath Assembly Rooms

You’ll most likely recognise the Bath Assembly Rooms from Season 1 of Bridgerton, as this is where Lady Danbury’s Ball took place. It’s also the place where Daphne and Simon first meet.

The Assembly Rooms were built in the 18th century and were a hub of social activity during the Regency period. Today, they are open to the public as a museum and event space. Whilst visiting you can explore the stunning ballroom, tea room (this is where Lady Danbury’s Ball took place), and card room, as well as learn about the history of the building and its role in Bath society.

The Assembly rooms give you a glimpse into the world of Georgian society. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or just want to soak up the atmosphere of one of Bath’s most iconic buildings, the Assembly Rooms are well worth a visit.

The Bath Assembly Rooms are open to the public daily from 10am to 5pm. Admission is £6.50 for adults and £3.50 for children. Audio guides are available for an additional fee.

Beauford Square

Beauford Square was used as one of the street filming filming locations in Bath. This quiet square, located just along the road from ‘Gunter’s’, is to the side of Bath’s historic Theatre Royal.

When watching Bridgerton you’ll see Beauford Square used as the backdrop for a number of carriage journeys and horse rides, as well as shots where characters stroll and chat.

The square is surrounded by Georgian townhouses, which were built in the 18th century. It’s a beautiful and peaceful location that’s perfect for a leisurely stroll. You can take your time admiring the architecture and imagining what life was like during the Regency period.

The Holburne Museum

The Holburne Museum has been been used for the exterior of Lady Danbury’s Residence throughout the Bridgerton series. You first see the museum in the background during Season 1 Episode 1, when Lady Danbury and Simon are talking aout whether he should attend her ball.

Besides from being the filming location, the Museum is really worth visiting if you’re interested in Georgian architecture and art.

The museum’s collection includes works by Gainsborough, Stubbs, and Turner, as well as a wide range of decorative arts and furniture from the 18th century. There’s also a Garden Café that overlooks the beautiful Sydney Gardens which is one of the best parks in Bath.

Trim Street

This charming street was used as a filming location in Bridgerton, mostly for Gunter’s Tea Shop, which is where Simon and Daphne meet for tea. You’ll recognize the curved windows of the tea shop, which are a distinctive feature of the building.

In reality, Gunter’s Tea Shop is actually called 12 Trim Street and is a hair dresser. But for the TV show, it was transformed into a cafe.

Aside from Gunter’s Tea Shop, Trim Street is also home to dozens of historic buildings and shops. The street has a charming Regenacy era atmosphere, with it’s cobbled pavement and old-fashioned storefronts.

The Abbey Deli (was Pickled Greens)

Head to Number 2 Abbey Green in Bath, and you’ll find The Abbey Deli which was used as the fiming location of Modiste dress maker. Back when Bridgerton season 1 was filmed, the café was Pickled Greens but sadly this cafe closed down. The building has since been reopened as The Abbey Deli.

The historical building features traditional double-fronted bay windows, which make it a perfect location for the show’s Regency-era setting.

While visiting the deli, you could enjoy eating afternoon tea here, just as Daphne and Simon did. You can view the afternoon tea menu on their website.

Bath Street

Bath Street was used as a backdrop in Bridgerton. It was first seen in the background during Season 1 Episode 1 when Simons arrive on horseback as he rides to Lady Danbury’s home.

Bath street is located in the heart of Bath and is lined with stunning Georgian architecture that perfectly captures the Regency-era charm of the show. While you are strolling down Bath Street, be sure to take a moment to admire the beautiful wrought iron balconies and intricate stonework of the architecutre.

You may also recongise the street from Netflix’s adaptions of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, featuring Dakota Johnson as Anne Elliot.

Edward Street

Edward Street is a new filming location for Bridgerton Season 3. The cast was seen filming here in January 2023 outside The Duke’s Hotel. There’s not really much known about what the set is being used for yet. Bridgerton season 3 is due to release in 2024, though at one point Netflix did hint at a 14 December 2023 release date on, but this was quickly deleted.

As an alternative to taking a Bridgerton themed tour, you could use the hop-on hop-off sighting see bus to visit the filming locations listed in this guide.

The hop-on hop-off bus gives you a 24 hour pass, and access to two different sightseeing routes around Bath. These routes visit many of the filming locations including The Assembly Rooms, The Royal Crescent and The Holburne Museum.

No matter which option you pick, you can easily visit many of the filming location in a single day and explore Bath’s beautiful sights.
